We love Mega Tent!

This tent is amazing for the following reasons:1. It is 6'9" at the highest point, which allows taller campers to comfortably stand up inside the tent.2. There are two rooms. We use the first room as an entryway where we leave all of our wet camping gear and dirty hiking boots. The floor of the entryway can be removed making it very easy to clean. The second room is used like a master bedroom.3. It is practically waterproof! We have camped in some heavy down pours and the tent has kept us very dry. In fact, on rainy camping day this is a great tent to hang out in because it is so large.4. It is easy to set up. After a couple of camping trips, we were able to assemble the tent in about 10 minutes. We can do it in less than 3 minutes if it is raining. And I can do it by myself in about 30 minutes (I am 5'4" - so if you are camping with only children you will still be able to assemble this tent.)

The first time setting this up (in our garage), it took my husband and I only 30 minutes to set up the tent, and another 30 minutes to set up the fly. The directions were decent, but they don't tell you that it is color-coded which helps. The direction on the fly is incorrect - you need to place the spine pole of the fly into the web pockets before you drape it over the tent.Very roomy with plenty of ventilation. We placed ours on a light tarp that was a very close footprint of the tent itself.It is probably a known item to frequent campers, but having only used the very small tents, it took us a few minutes to figure out what the toggles were for inside and outside the tent (securing the rolled up unzipped divider). Velcro tabs on the fly to hold it on the poles were also designed but not in the directions.We'll be camping with it this weekend with some rain in the forecast and I hope to have a follow-up review. The zippers seem well-made with velcro fastners to keep the elements out.

This review will be hurried since we are off today for another Tuolumne Meadows (Yosemite) experience. This is are fourth extended Alpine camping experience with the Chinook Twin Peaks Guide tent. Putting it up goes better with two people... but one can do it. The Twin Peaks gets its name from the two sets of crossed poles that make a double dome in the interior which creates a cathederal effect with the ample mesh vents and windows. We have a better quality 18" tall queen size air mattress that makes the sepearte sleeping area more enjoyable. We have been through rain and snow in the Sierras and severe winds overlooking a stormy Pacific Ocean... and our tent has never failed us. We use MSR Groundhog tent stakes which are the best... and also available at Amazon.com Prime. The second room is big enough to put up our table and chairs to eat indoors or work free of mosquitoes. The only thing that needs improvement is a sewn in floor in the front room like the one in the bedroom.
