Product Description
The Suite V series' unique pole structure provides maximum headroom where you appreciate it most, at the front of the tent. Maximum height continues into the front vestibule for excellent livability. The 3-pole fiberglass frame supports 75D polyester taffeta uncoated/1000 mm coated walls. The floor is 75D polyester, 1000mm, tensioned perimeter seam in a bathtub design. The Suite V is vented well with mesh vents in ceilings and 2 mesh side panels. There are 4 storage pockets 2 on the inside and 2 on the outside to keep essentials organized. A unique design with excellent livability.

Eureka! We've found it!

I hadn't been camping in over 20 years, and that was before kids, dogs, and the need to haul gear. So when we decided to go on a 4-night trip I wanted a 3-season tent that's big enough for the family and dogs, and would stand up to Mother Nature. This tent turned out to be an excellent choice.Pros: Large footprint, big enough for two full size air mattress with room left over for 2 small dogs, a large cooler, a tote of food, and a couple big duffels full of clothes.The clips, grommets, and Velcro make it so much easier to secure poles, unlike the old fashioned ties.Lots of pockets and places to stow gear and junkA removable panel to separate into two roomsTwo very large D-style doors that can be opened on one or both sides.Great rain fly that really keeps out the rain and can be opened at the front to create an awning and vestibule area. With the rain fly attached, we stayed dry during a medium rain fall. Not a drop made it into the tent. Love the snap type buckles (dog collar) that clip the rain fly to the tent - so easy to unclip when you want to let in fresh air and sunshine.Free standing tent that you don't have to tie down unless the weather starts to blow a bit.Others will say they don't like the polyester taffeta floor, but we found, with a tarp underneath to protect it from sticks & rocks, it worked fine and creates a better water-tight seal with the tent walls than a plastic type floor.I found this tent at Sports Chalet for $170 (marked down from $299) so check the websites before you buy.Cons: The directions suck (at least for us newbies). They're printed on a small sheet of cardstock with unclear pictures of the pole configuration. Some good diagrams would have helped. This tent isn't shaped like most dome type tents - the poles are in a "V" configuration from back to front. Because it's so large, it took us a while to figure out that the best way to set it up (for us) isn't the way they tell you in the directions. We found it much easier to extend the poles first, thread them thru the mesh fabric sleeves, then fit them into the grommets (one at a time, starting in back). Then you need one person to stand the tent poles up, while the second person handles the pole over the front. The directions don't clearly explain that the third pole - over the front of the tent - goes OVER the other two poles where they meet in front. Finally, connect the clips and Velcro to all the poles. We still managed, through trial & error, to set it up the first time in under 30 minutes and some aggravation. It could be done with one person, but it's much easier with two people, especially when you have to fit the rain fly, with it's two poles, over the top of the tent and then clip it down. Not sure that I've explained this any better than the directions that came with the tent. Still, once we got to the campsite, we managed to get it set up in about 20 minutes and didn't look like a bunch of rubes while doing it.

I agree that the lack of a "bathtub floor" could be an issue for woods camping; this is an excellent tent for beach and grass. In fact, during severe beach storms we survived with some wall wetness after several hours of driving rain, but the poles held up during high winds--40+ mph. This style of tent has been our choice for beach camping for many years--stays fairly cool with good ventilation, guys well, cleans easily, has survived sunlight, and as mentioned holds up to severe weather. We use a screen tent for tables and chairs, etc.

Great Space / Terrible floor

This is my first car camping tent. I set it up at home to make sure that I understood it before going out. I was shocked that 1) it does not have a bath tub floor and 2) the floor is made out of the exact same material as the tent itself and 3) the seems actually sit on the ground. Not a good formula for success. My kids and wife love it, but I'm still thinking of returning it because of this vulnerability. I don't plan to, but I know that some people put cots and chairs in their tent. If you do that with this floor, you will be in trouble, it will definitely rip.
