Product Description
The Apollo 1210 is a 2-pole rectangular dome tent that will provide comfortable shelter 3 seasons out of the year no matter where you go. Weather it’s a trip to the backcountry or to the campground, Eureka’s StormShield technology combines moisture repelling materials with a tough reinforced construction that resists wear and tear. Extra weatherproof design features a bathtub floor that wraps up the sides of the tent, keeping seams high above the ground and water outside. With 120 sq ft floor area there is plenty of room in this 8-man a divided space with two large rooms. With the center height at 6’4” feel free to stand up in this tent. Four vents for circulation and added comfort. Brimmed windows for ventilation and views. There are 2 windows and two doors in the Apollo 1210. Two interior storage pockets and a hanging gear loft are attached to keep your essential items handy. Another feature of the Apollo is quick set-up. The frame is made of durable shockcorded fiberglass poles that fit into color coded webbing with ring and pin attachments. Nothing better than a quick and easy set-up.

Eureka makes great tents, but this one has the wrong picture...
By Corey
So I have been looking to get a larger family tent and originally found the Tetragon by Eureka! It seemed like a good size and I liked all the features and price. Then I saw the Eureka Apollo had been added to Amazon as the new model of the Tetragon. I was a little confused at first since the picture for the 8 person tent looked the same as the other sizes. I looked into it and was told by Eureka customer service that the new Apollo tent was in fact the same tent as the Tetragon line, just with a new color scheme, and was made exclusively for Amazon.I really liked the new orange and silver/grey color and was even willing to pay a little more for it since the Apollo tent was not on sale like the Tetragon. So assuming it was the same as the Tetragon 8 person tent in the new color, I order it.As usual the tent shows up at my door super fast... and I open it up to find out I was sent the wrong tent. The tent they sent me was for sure not the same color as the pictured Apollo tent, instead it was the same color scheme as the Bitterroot (grey with a brownish top).Amazon was nice enough to ship me the correct tent, and take back the first tent for no charge, and even shipped the new one next day. However... the new tent was different, and was marked "Apollo 8 Person Tent", but was also the same color as the first one (like the Bitterroot). So my thoughts are the images on Amazon are just wrong... I guess I will keep this tent, however it is not what I thought I was getting. At the end of the day Eureka makes great tents, so I never had to question that, just that I wasn't getting what I thought I was.I have yet to fully set it up, so I don't know for sure that it looks like the Tetragon 8 person.Just know, as of this post, the 8 person tent is not as pictured on the site.

Definitely not this color - its the same as 2011 Tetragon 1210 (not the new 2012 Tetragon 8)
By D. Hurst
I have been looking at the Eureka Tetragon 8 - the new 2012 8-person version - mostly because it offers the large size with the full rain fly. When I saw this pictured with the full fly and the orange, I ordered it up. However, as the previous reviewer noted, the orange is not the correct color. The fly is a brownish/gold color (looks like Amazon has added photos of the actual tent since I ordered it). I'm fine with that, just wanted something that will be easier to find at night in campground than green.I was torn between the 2012 Tetragon 8 version, or this older (2011 and earlier) version of the Tetragon 1210. The sizes are identical, but here are the trade offs as I see them:2012 Eureka Tetragon 8 Eureka Tetragon 8 Tent:- full rain fly on sides for better rain protection- better coverage on front and back doors- windows are higher up without zip coversEureka Apollo 1210 (same as Eureka! Tetragon 1210 - Tent (sleeps 8):- Rain fly does not fully cover sides so seam sealing and ground cloth will be critical in rain- windows are lower and bigger windows next to doors so I suspect this will be much cooler than the newer versionAs far as I can tell, everything else is identical between the two. I set this up in the backyard and slept in it one night so far and definitely had a comfortable cross breeze through the tent (I did not have the room divider installed). So, I think I will like the window configuration on this tent, and my guess is that it's better than the newer version. Note that I haven't used the newer version, but have seen it in person at a local store.I'm skeptical that this will keep dry in a good rain, particularly if there is any wind during the rain whatsoever or if, like me, you'll be camping with kids. The tent below the windows is pretty much fully exposed without rainfly coverage... fine if you don't touch it, but I think it's pretty safe to say at some point one of the kids will push something up against that part of the tent and it will leak like sieve. Ok, I admit this is all speculation at this point, but I'm headed to Michigan's upper peninsula this summer so I'm sure I'll get to test the waterproofness (is that a word?) of it then. Called Eureka and they claim you cannot replace the rain fly for the 1210 with the newer version, but I might try anyway since the tent sizes seem to be identical. One more curious thing on the fly for this one... the front door has two panels that get staked out with panels further away from the tent which provides pretty good coverage on the front. However, the back door does not have these panels. This seems to provide better coverage on the front than the rear.

Great tent
By R.H..
I had a frustrating time with Amazon when buying this tent because the website had the wrong picture and it took them a long time to correct their error. In the meantime, they pulled the product from the site. However, I was able to buy one that Amazon was selling used because someone else had returned it because the color was wrong. As a result, I got a great unused tent for half price. We used it on our annual camping trip and loved it. It is well constructed and the zippers are substantial. The tent survived treatment by four children. It did not rain while we were camping, so I cannot attest to its ability to keep us dry.
